Request for Tender Offers for Canteen Service Providers
Central School is seeking to receive tender offers for a supplier for its school canteen for 2020. The service provider will be expected to provide a variety of healthy, low cost lunches to Primary and Secondary school children. Currently the school has a total of approximately 1,000 students. Many students bring their own lunches to school and many purchase lunch and snacks at the canteen.
The school will provide a small equipped kitchen area for food preparation and cooking. The supplier will be responsible for paying monthly rent, plus the electricity, gas, and water that they use. The supplier will be responsible for running all aspects of the canteen and keep any profits for its operation.
The canteen operator will be responsible for setting the menu options and prices in conformity with various school policies. Central School is a “Health Promoting School” so service providers will be required to supply drinks and snacks that have little sugar in them. The school is also interested in reducing its dependency on white rice and promoting local island vegetables.
The canteen is expected to operate on all days that the school is open.
